1. Scope

What this policy covers

This Refund Policy applies to HCR Media memberships, subscriptions, digital access, courses, templates, learning resources, workshops, audits, mentorship and related services purchased through HCR, unless a specific written proposal states additional terms.

It forms part of the HCR Terms and Conditions. If a product-specific term conflicts with a mandatory legal right, the mandatory right prevails.

2. Australian Consumer Law

Consumer guarantees cannot be signed away

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.

Where a service has a major failure, you may be entitled to cancel the service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion or compensation for reduced value. You may also be entitled to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a non-major failure, HCR may be entitled to remedy the problem within a reasonable time.

3. Change of mind

Change-of-mind refunds are generally not offered

Except where required by law or expressly stated for a product, HCR does not provide a refund because you changed your mind, no longer want the service, forgot to cancel, did not use available access, did not complete learning material or purchased the wrong tier.

HCR may choose to offer a discretionary credit, tier adjustment or refund in exceptional circumstances. Any discretionary remedy is assessed case by case and does not create an ongoing obligation or limit statutory rights.

4. Results and opportunities

A disappointing outcome is not itself a service failure

Refunds are not ordinarily available because a customer did not obtain a job, project, client, interview, response, selection, income, profit, business outcome, course result or Talent approval.

HCR sells the access, content and services described at purchase. It does not sell or guarantee employment or income. Individual results depend on factors outside HCR's control.

5. Digital products and access

Access may be supplied immediately

Digital content, member areas, listings, templates and courses may be supplied as soon as access is enabled. Once supplied or substantially accessed, change-of-mind refunds are generally not available, subject always to mandatory consumer rights.

If access does not activate, contact HCR promptly. We may first verify the order, correct account details, reapply an entitlement or provide replacement access before determining whether another remedy is appropriate.

6. Subscription renewals

Recurring charges continue until cancellation

A subscription renews at the interval and price disclosed at checkout until cancelled. Customers are responsible for cancelling future renewal using available account controls or by contacting HCR with enough time for the request to be processed.

Failure to use a subscription or failure to notice a renewal does not automatically create a refund entitlement. If a billing or cancellation control malfunctioned, provide details so HCR can investigate.

7. Cancellation

Cancellation normally stops future billing

Unless the product states otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and access continues until that date. Cancellation does not normally produce a full or partial refund for a billing period that has started.

If access is terminated because of fraud, unlawful conduct, payment reversal or a material breach of the Terms, a refund may be refused to the extent permitted by law.

8. Service not supplied or materially different

Contact HCR when the promised service is missing

If a purchased service is not supplied at all, is materially different from its description, cannot be accessed after reasonable troubleshooting or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, contact HCR promptly.

Depending on the circumstances, HCR may provide corrected or replacement access, repeat or complete the service, offer a service credit, or provide a partial or full refund. The remedy depends on the nature and seriousness of the problem and applicable law.

9. Courses, workshops and events

Delivery format affects the available remedy

Self-paced digital courses are treated as digital access. Live workshops, cohorts and events may have stated dates, attendance limits and rescheduling terms. Missing a session does not ordinarily create a refund right where the session was delivered as described.

If HCR cancels a paid live event without providing a reasonable replacement or rescheduled option, an appropriate refund or credit will be offered, subject to the product terms and applicable law.

10. Audits, mentorship and private services

Work already performed remains chargeable

Booked audits, mentorship, consulting or private services may involve preparation, reserved time and limited capacity. Product-specific booking, rescheduling and cancellation terms apply where disclosed before purchase.

Where HCR has already performed part of the agreed service, any refund may be limited to the undelivered portion where lawful. No term limits a remedy required for a major failure or other breach of a consumer guarantee.

11. Duplicate or incorrect charges

Billing errors will be investigated

If you believe you were charged twice, charged after a confirmed cancellation or charged an amount different from checkout, contact HCR with the order number, date and amount. Do not send complete card details.

If an error is confirmed, HCR will correct it and provide any refund required. A pending bank authorisation is not always a completed charge and may disappear automatically according to the financial institution's processing time.

12. Requesting a review

Provide enough information to investigate

Contact HCR as soon as reasonably possible and include the purchaser name, purchase email, order number, product or membership, purchase date, date the issue was discovered, description of the problem and the remedy requested.

We may ask for screenshots, account details or other relevant evidence. Do not send passwords, complete payment-card information or unnecessary identity documents.

13. Assessment

Requests are reviewed against records and law

HCR may review the product description, checkout disclosures, order and subscription records, access and usage history, communications, technical logs and information supplied by the customer.

Discretionary change-of-mind refunds are determined by HCR case by case. Statutory remedies are not discretionary and will be handled according to applicable law.

14. Approved refunds

Refunds return through the original method where possible

An approved refund is ordinarily processed to the original payment method. Shopify, payment providers and financial institutions control final settlement timing, which may take several business days.

HCR is not responsible for a bank's processing delay, exchange-rate movement or third-party fee, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Chargebacks and payment disputes

Contact HCR first where practical

Please contact HCR before starting a chargeback so the issue can be investigated. A chargeback does not expand or remove legal rights. HCR may provide relevant order, access and communication records to the payment provider when responding to a dispute.

Fraudulent or abusive payment disputes may result in restricted access, subject to applicable law. Nothing prevents a customer from making a lawful complaint or genuine payment dispute.

16. Policy changes

The current version is published here

HCR may update this policy when products, subscription practices or legal obligations change. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date and will not remove rights that already accrued under applicable law.
